Michael McLychok, Principal Designer for Bali Built, is known for using all natural materials, with special design features such as Japanese joinery on beams, fanned roof rafters, arched hand railings, beveled-edge posts, and classically carved entrance doors, all hand crafted by traditional artisans.
As a member of Trees4Trees (a company dedicated to reforestation) and with LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, Bali Built subscribes to eco-friendly manufacturing and building practices. Bali Built imports the highest grade of sustainable hardwoods, either FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), reclaimed, farmed or legally harvested from government regulated sources. Extremely dense hardwoods are inherently termite resistant, and as a result, are not chemically treated, making them toxic free. In addition, the strength and density of these wood species will outlast softer woods which typically rot over time, especially in tropical climates. These strong, durable and magnificent woods are like a fine piece of furniture which, if maintained properly, will retain their beauty and characteristics for generations to come.
